feel quite like myself - rec'd. a letter from M. Spring + Marsh - Cressor Died about 9 O'clock - went to see about digging grave / got tired out - feel tired to night - nothing of importance happened to day

Feel quite well this morning - Rec'd. a letter from Milo Spring + W. A. Marsh / J. Cressor died this morning - went to see about haven grave dug + got all tired out

Fri. 5

tried to take charge of Cressors Funeral but so weak / could not - gave it up to Cor. Palmer of Co. F / wrote letter to wife this afternoon - nothing particular has happened yet to day / feel quite well but verry weak all over - was called up to put on our acquipment / ready for an atack

Very tired + weak - tried to charge of Cressors funeral but had to give it to Corp. Palmer of Co. F took my place - wrote a letter to Dorcas in afternoon - every one that was able was called up + put on their tregery. / expecting an attack + ley with them on the rest of the night - no rest for me being the only Officer in the Company in Camp

went to the Doct. this Morning with Co. / verry warm - the warmest day I have seen / feel rather slim - feel quite slim to night / just been vomiting / can hear fireing at Ft. Hudson - nothing happened

I went to the Dr.'s Call with Company's Sick - don't feel as well as common / quite sick at night - just been vomiting / we can hear heavy fireing at Pt. Hudson

feel verry sick all day - n.h.t.d. - heard Fireing at Ft. Hudson - Lieut. Kellogg got his discharge last night - Sam Kettle come down last night with mule team

n.p.h.t.d. - E.J.S. came to Tent with me - verry heavey Thundering all around here but little rain here - received Letter from wife + Marsh

Feel comfortable to day - hear heavy fireing at Pt. Hudson + heard Thunder but little rain - put out mess pans to ketch water as it runn off the Tent + put it in Bottles + put under Floor of Tent

n.p.h.t.d. - Fred Bastian came from Springd. Landing tonight / no fireing up the River to night - Ensign staid with me to night / feel rather weak + tired all day

Feel quite comfortable - Fred Bastion come to Co.'s quarters from Springfield landing / no news from Pt. Hudson - Ensign stayed with me to night - am rather weak to night

n.p.h.t.d. - feel quite weak all day - went town for Hatch - E went to Co.

n.p.h.t.d. - went to the Market this Morn. - feel quite well / another attemp to take the Fort

n.p.h.t.d. - Sargts. McDonald + Geer came to the Co. + Wink - no news from Ft. Hudson - began Letter to Spring

the Army made another on Pt. Hudson yesterday + failed to take it as before a great many killed or wounded / Sargts. Geer + McDonald + Wink was wounded come to Camp to day in the Battle of 14th

n.p.h.t.d. - Prutt came to Co. - no news from Ft. Hudson of any importance / Thunder Shower this afternoon

Feel quite comfortable - Levi Prutt come to Camp to day - no news

Francis Nea died this afternoon at Hos.

Have a sore on my face - comenced to swell last night - comfortable otherwise - Frances Nea died this P.M.

Francis Nea was buried 10 O'clock / Vandenburg came to Co. - n.p.h.t.d. - no news from Ft. Hudson
